I feel that this poster contains Re-contextualization because of how it is used.  This can be a offensive poster towards Barack Obama.  I say this because when or if he see this he might get emotional because of how racial it looks.  It can be inferred that a white person did this drawing.  This can also be layering because it looks like the designer put the background on first and was followed by the picture

This past First quarter, I have learned a lot of different things that made me change the way i think of art.  I always thought and felt that art was only a drawing or a sculpture or something that is handmade.  Now I know that it isn't just a piece of drawing or sculpture, its the beauty and the creativity that artist put into their artwork to make it have their own voice.  Many artist set themselves apart from others by using their own technique and creativity in their artworks.  I really enjoyed the handmade book activity we did in the first quarter.  It helped me see how talented my classmates are and it really push me to do my best in having the best book.  The work we did on the Principles and elements also helped me figure out what art really is.  Now I am looking forward to doing more activities in art and doing more projects like the handmade book one.

From the picture above ^^^^^^^^^^I learned that there are different types of ways you can understand things.  The way I understood the Elements of Art and Principles  was by creating the book we made in class.  I found making the book very enjoyable and fun.  The thing I like most about it is cutting out the shapes and pasting them on the paper.  I also found talking about the books interesting because I got a chance to see everyone's book and how they felt about oher students artwork.  What I would do differently the next time is making sure I have a variety of things on my book instead of a simple shape.  I would also make sure I complete every step throughly.

I find the handmade book interesting because the things that are in the book, such as the pictures that are in the book. Also I like the the way the artist made every color page in the book a different color and I think he did that randomly. I say this because the color of the pages are not ordinary colors.  Some of them are colors people really don't use such as the kind of violet color that is shown above.  If I had to judge this book I would say he did a good job and he put effort into this work. You can tell from the way it looks that the artist took time into completing this book.  One day I might just try and make a book that looks similar to this one.

In this artwork I ses the following Elements of Art and Principles of design: Form, Value, Shape and Unity and  Emphasis.  Form and Shape are the elements of art that really stand out because of how the Form and shape help make this artwork. I think that the artist put effort into making the form and shape of this drawing's head.  Value is another thing that reall stands out in this artwork because of how the artist put the blue stripping lines on the womens face.  It shows the brightness that is in the artwork.
Emphasis comes up in the color of the blue in this artwork.  The way the artist puts the blue streakes in the artworks face makes it Emphasis because of how different it is from the original face.  Unity stands out from how the streaks of blue and the face are combined to make something.  I really dont know why the artist did this but I guess its because he/she was showing his or her emotion in the artwork.

In this picture of a painting, the two elements of  that stands out the most to me are Pattern and Form. The pattern makes up the different color squares in the background. The form shows out with the furniture thats in the middlegroup. The two principles of designs I see in this painting is Harmony and emphasis.  The harmony really shows out in the background because of the mixture of colors.  Emphasis comes out in the middle ground with the furniture because of how the furniture is made.

                                               Michaelangelo, David, between 1501-1504

Michaelangelo's sculpture, "David", is a statue created between 1501-1504.  It is a statue of a man standing in nude.  This picture represent the spirtual hero David, We really can't see what David was looking at but we can say he was holding some type of object in his hand.  In this picture David is standing on a object that looks like a plague and his sculpture was probroly in a museum.  By the lack of clothes i'll say this sculpture was done back in the 1500s because then people didnt really care for clothes so they didnt wear them in some parts of the world.

It can be noticed that the artist but hard work and effort into this sculpture.  It can be infered that the artist(Michaelangelo) put some emotion into this sculpture for an example the fact that David is nude is probroly because Michaelangelo was expressing how he feels.

If I could interview Michaelangelo here are some questions I would ask:
 *What made you sculpture David
*Why did you sculpture David in nude
*How did you feel when you where finish with the sculpture
*How long did it take you to make this sculpture
*How did you feel when this sculpture became famous

"Race and Gender Criticism"

After reading "Race and Gender Critisim" I feel that it was unfair that some people had less visual art put into art museums.  For example, in the passage, it states that the Museum of Modern Art had seventy-one artist put their art work up in their museum and there was only three white women , one women of color and no men of color that had art in that museum.  So that means the 66 artist that were left was white men.  This is just becoming ridiculous, the gender of women and people of color are not reciving the chance to get their art notice in museums.  This article made me think of alot of things, mostly it made me think about people treating colored people like they were still in slavery.  I say that colored people should get the same treatment as the white people. Colored people want to know how do others feel about their artwork, how do they suppose to do that if Museums are not putting up their artwork up so others can notice them.

A question I would ask the artist is What made you make the art that you made?
How do you feel about the Museum of Modern Art only putting up one colored women artwork up?

My very first art experience

My very first art experience was when i went to a art museum when I was 5 years old.  I dont really remember some of the artist of the art because I was young but I remember what the art looked like.  My favorite painting i seen was a painting of a man's face and in the background was a house.  The house had my favorite two colors on it, the curtins were green and the door was kind of red that looks like blood.  I told my mother can she take a picture of the art so we can but it in our photo album.  When I came home that day, my mother and I were the only people there.  I want to stay occupied so I asked my mother may I see the picture of the painting and she gave it to me.  For the rest of that day all I did was try to draw that painting.  After a while I gave up, trying to draw that painting was getting kind of frustrating.
